What’s Going on at RCA?

Rossville Christian Academy opened its new 7,000 square foot cafetorium on February 25. The new facility includes seating for 400 and features a stage for chapel, drama productions, and other special events. It is further complimented by a full commercial kitchen and restrooms, two classroom spaces, one for music education and one for a media center (library/computer lab). With the addition of these two new classrooms, two classroom spaces in the existing facilities were made available to dedicate to STEM and art classes. Part of this overall construction project also created a new 2,400 square foot lobby on the existing gymnasium with a new concession stand, restrooms, and gathering/dining area. This space opened in November and was enjoyed throughout 2018-2019 basketball season.

“This new facility greatly enhances the educational opportunities and environment at RCA. Students and teachers are enjoying the new space daily, particularly for our weekly chapel services. They are excited about their first dramatic production, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, scheduled to take place on the new stage in April,” according to Rachael Burnett, Interim Head of School.

As part of their Spring Fest and Open House event on Saturday, March 23 from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., RCA will hold a grand opening ribbon cutting for the new facility at noon. The community is invited to attend. There will be many FREE, fun activities for families including a game truck, face painting, and petting zoo. There will also be food trucks available, a book fair, and a raffle for an iPad. Come join the fun!
